Correct use of hydraulic press oil seals


Before each startup of the hydraulic press, preparatory work must be done. Check if the mechanical seal and pipeline equipment are complete and meet the skill requirements. A static pressure test should be performed on the mechanical seal of the hydraulic press, mainly to check for leakage. If significant leakage is found, the cause should be promptly investigated and eliminated. If it cannot be eliminated, disassemble and check; don't be afraid of trouble. Generally, a static pressure test uses a pressure of 2-3 kg/cm2.

Before starting the hydraulic press, check that the sealing cavity is filled with liquid. If there is a condensed medium, use steam to heat the sealing cavity to melt the medium. Before starting, it is necessary to rotate the machine to prevent sudden startup from causing the soft ring to break. For mechanical seals using an external pump oil system, the sealing oil system should be started first and stopped after the hydraulic press is stopped. After the hydraulic press hot oil pump stops, the cooling water for the sealing cavity and end face seal should not be stopped immediately. It should be stopped only after the oil temperature at the end face seal drops below 80 degrees to prevent damage to the sealing parts.

Generally, after the pump of a four-column hydraulic press starts, there will be slight leakage. If the leakage does not decrease after four hours of operation, stop and check. The operating pressure of the pump should be stable, with pressure fluctuations not exceeding kg/cm2. During the operation of the four-column hydraulic press, cavitation should be prevented to avoid dry friction and damage to the sealing surface. Check the sealing condition of the hydraulic press. During operation, if the leakage exceeds the standard, the heavy oil should not exceed 5 drops/minute, and the light oil should not exceed 10 drops/minute. If there is no improvement within 2-3 days, the pump should be stopped to check the sealing equipment.
